The IPcoax 2400 Coax Ethernet Switch enables IP-based Video, Data and VoIP applications over existing coax cabling.
Flexible Method for Connecting Units over Legacy Coax
The use of IP-based Residential Triple Play is growing exponentially. There are many MDU installations where rewiring the building is impractical or literally impossible. The best alternative is to use the existing coax cabling that was used by analog cameras and legacy devices.
IPcoax 2400 - The Ideal Solution for Utilizing Existing Coax
Triple Play IP Services access over any coax cable without rewiring:
| - |
Fast, secure and reliable solution reduces installation time |
| - |
Dynamic bandwidth allocation optimizes throughput based on activity |
| - |
Quality of Service and VLAN termination and tagging |
| - |
Extends fiber optic data speed onto existing coax wiring |
Open Standards Based
The IPcoax 2400 uses the HPNA 3 standard for Ethernet over coax.
IPcoax 2400 IP Video Deployment Example:
A client 402 is connected to existing Coax and Set-top boxes, PCs and/or Voice Over IP Phones are plugged into the 402 Ethernet ports. Up to 24 coax runs are connected to the 2400 and the Gigabit Ethernet output can be connected in a Ring or Chain to the Video Server and/or the Central Data Center. Note that the 2400 ports are grouped in sections of 8 ports that share 100Mbps of HPNA bandwidth. If faster speeds are required to each unit, the IPcoax 1400 should be considered.
